Speaker: Kurt Barker
Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Bend-based Partner, Kurt Barker, is the practice group leader of the firm’s multi-state Labor & Employment practice group. He provides counsel and defends clients in most all employment-related matters, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, tort, non-compete enforcement, and trade secret obligations. He frequently lectures on employment law topics around the state and has been repeatedly featured at the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries’ Annual Conference. Kurt also thrives on conducting trainings for managers and employees on topics such as anti-harassment, medical leave, accommodations, and more.
Kurt is a board member and past president of Central Oregon SHRM, an affiliate of the Society of Human Resources Management. He serves on the board of Saving Grace (Central Oregon’s intimate-partner violence prevention, intervention, and support center) and he volunteers as an Emeritus Director for the board of Volunteers in Medicine, Clinic of the Cascades.
